Doxycycline
Doxycycline is a very efficient antibiotic intended for the treatment of bacteria-induced infections. It works by slowing down the growth of bacteria in your body, letting your immune system deal with the infection more effectively. Avoid taking more of this medication than needed, as a number of overdose symptoms can occur. Although such symptoms as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea are not expected to be life-threatening, they can get pretty bothersome and need to be reported to your local emergency center. In case of a surgery, even if it is a minor one, make sure your surgeon is aware of the fact you are currently taking doxycycline. An overdose of this medicine is expected to cause some of the following symptoms: nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Make sure you report any of the symptoms mentioned directly to your health care provider or your local emergency center. The following drugs are supposed to be reported before you start the treatment, as they can interfere with doxycycline and affect the success of your treatment: penicillin antibiotics, blood thinners, antacids, minerals, tretinoin, cholestyramine, isotretinoin, drugs containing bismuth subsalicylate, and colestipol.
